An Abt/Quadrupel brewed by
St. Bernard Brouwerij

Watou, Belgium

ABV: 10.5%

Glassware: Trappist style

Had on tap at Monk’s in Philadelphia. I was pretty excited to be able to try this one on tap for the first time. Pours a very nice tan head with a dark ruby/brown body. It looks just gorgeous. It smells of dark fruits an sweet malts. The flavor of this beer really develops as you go on – take your time with it. It always stays smooth and slightly sweet though. The flavor is fruit, malt, yeast, spices and dried fruit. It is top of its class.

Beer Advocate food pairing suggestions: Cheese (buttery; Brie, Gouda, Havarti, Swiss, sharp; Blue, Cheddar) General (Digestive) Meat (Beef, Smoked Meat, Game)

My ratebeer.com rating: 4.2
