Review: Stoudts Double IPA

An Imperial/Double IPA brewed by

Stoudts Brewing Co.
Adamstown, Pennsylvania USA

As Larry David would say:  Pretty, pretty good. This double IPA pours a nice strong, frothy head that fades after a few minutes but leaves behind some nice lacing. The Stoudts Double IPA has a nice dark golden color. I had braced myself for a big hop flavor and I got it but not in that bad way. While saying it is balanced would be pushing it – that is not the point of this beer – it was very smooth and as balanced as a double can be.  Some thought went into the constructing of this one as it was not just over hoped and put out there. The bitterness hits you on the way out though and if you stop sipping for a bit you still taste the bitterness.
