Review: Speakeasy Double Daddy IPA

An Imperial/Double IPA brewed by
Speakeasy Ales and Lagers

San Francisco, California USA

ABV: 9.5%

Glassware: Tulip

Pours a light orange or slightly cloudy yellow. It smells of hops and more hops. I also pulled some light citrus fruit aromas; very nice. It tastes hoppy and pine laden. I was surprised though that I picked up that tangy, citrus like aroma in the flavor as well. Very interesting. I liked. A very good IPA. It was balanced for an over-the-top hop bomb, if you can believe that. Just below the tippy-top tier in my opinion but in the contest.

Beeradvocate.com suggested food pairings: Cuisine (Barbecue) Cheese (peppery; Monterey / Pepper Jack, sharp; Blue, Cheddar, pungent; Gorgonzola, Limburger) Meat (Game, Grilled Meat, Salmon)

My ratebeer.com score: 3.8
