Offbeat news: Schools Board debates beer-run penalty

Coming to us from Pensecola, Fl. Escambia County School Board members want to wait before deciding the fate of the transportation director who admitted purchasing beer for his employees.

An investigation concluded that Fritz drove a district vehicle to purchase beer for employees while they were securing buses in preparation for Hurricane Gustav, district spokesman Ronnie Arnold said.
